How we put together the injury digest
Team news decides more FPL gameweeks than any stat. One late fitness doubt can turn a captain pick into a blank. Each week the digest gathers the latest injury and suspension news and tells you what we think it means for your team.
What is in the digest
For each gameweek we list players who are ruled out, players who are doubtful and players expected back. Every entry gives the reason, the latest word from the club and the likely return where one is known. Then comes our view on what managers should do: sell, hold or wait for more news. The digest goes live nearer the deadline, once the week's press conferences have started, so it reflects the freshest news available at that point.
How to read the FPL flags
Fantasy Premier League marks players with coloured flags. Yellow means doubtful, with a 75%, 50% or 25% chance of playing. Red means the player is not expected to play. A flag can stay on for a while after a player is back in training, so the words in the news matter more than the colour.
Making the call
- Wait for the press conference when you can. Most managers speak on Thursday or Friday, and their words often change the picture.
- Sell long term injuries quickly. Holding them costs you a starting spot every week, and their price will fall.
- Hold short knocks if you have cover. A good player missing one game is rarely worth a transfer.
- Have a backup plan before the deadline. If your captain is a doubt, decide on the replacement in advance.
