Reading the Premier League table for FPL

The table is the oldest stat in football and still one of the most useful. Here you get the live standings next to the players leading the league for goals, assists, clean sheets and more.

What is on this page

The table shows every club's position, points and goal difference, with the top four, the European places and the relegation zone marked so each race is easy to follow. The tabs beside it switch to the player leaders: goals, assists, clean sheets, average rating, chances created, minutes played, goals plus assists, goals per 90 minutes and FPL points.

How FPL managers can use it

  1. Look at goal difference, not only points. A club scoring freely is a good place to find attackers, and one conceding very little is where clean sheets come from.
  2. Use goals per 90 to find hidden finishers. Some players score often but play fewer minutes. If their role grows, so do their points.
  3. Watch minutes played. A player near the top of that list is a safe starter, which matters most for defenders and cheap midfielders.
  4. Compare chances created with assists. A player making plenty of chances but few assists is often unlucky, and luck tends to even out.

Why the table matters more as the season goes on

From March onwards, what a team is playing for starts to shape results. Sides chasing Europe or fighting relegation often play with an extra edge, while clubs with little left to play for can drift. The table tells you who still has something at stake, and that is worth knowing when you pick players for the run in.
