How to plan your team on the Pick page
This is where the week's work gets done. Pick loads your real FPL squad so you can try transfers, compare predicted points and set your lineup before the deadline.
What you can do here
Your squad appears on the pitch with predicted points for the next gameweek and the next five. The bar at the top shows your money in the bank and how many free transfers you have. You can browse every player by position, price, form or total points, and switch between next gameweek and next three gameweeks to see who suits the short or longer run. Optimise lineup sorts your best eleven, save team keeps a plan for later and reset puts everything back. You can also mark the week you intend to play each chip. Your real team on the FPL site only changes when you confirm transfers there.
A good routine before every deadline
- Check the team news first. A transfer built on old news is a wasted transfer.
- Find your weakest starter. Look at predicted points over the next three gameweeks. The lowest one is usually the right player to move.
- Try two or three replacements. Compare their five week predictions, not only next week.
- Look at price changes. If your target is about to rise, buying a day earlier can save you £0.1m.
- Press optimise lineup, then use your own judgement. If it benches a player you trust in a good fixture, it is fine to overrule it.
- Make the final moves in the official FPL app.
About the predictions
Predicted points come from a model that looks at fixtures, minutes, recent form and underlying numbers such as expected goals. They show the likely outcome, not a promise. A player predicted for five points can score fifteen or one. Over a full season, though, picking the higher number more often than not adds up. Our guide on who to transfer in this gameweek walks through how we make that call.
